Overview
Disclaimer: Carrier is an ongoing project by Kodecco Games, and the rules may be updated as development progresses. We are committed to refining the game and will regularly release new instructions. Thank you for your understanding as we work to create the best experience possible!
How to Play Carrier
Carrier is a social deduction game set in a zombie apocalypse, where players are secretly assigned roles as either Survivors (heroes of the wasteland), Carriers (hidden zombie villains), or Mavericks (working towards a secret agenda). The Survivors must ensure the Curefinder escapes safely, while the Carriers aim to deceive, hunt, and eliminate the Curefinder before the Survivors can succeed.
Key Phases:
1. Encounters: Team-based missions that require elected players to participate. Success means Survivors may obtain valuable assistance, while failure will benefit the Carriers.
2. Escape Tokens: Survivors must collect at least 3 Escape Tokens before they can attempt to escort the Curefinder to safety.
3. Nomination: When the 3rd escape token is found, the player who discovers it Appoints 3 players to form the Escape Party. All players will then start the Voting phase.
The Nomination phase is optional - the Appointer may choose to skip it and continue gameplay. Players may enter the Nomination phase every time a subsequent Escape Token is found.
IMPORTANT: Carriers CANNOT Eliminate during the Nomination phase.
4. Voting for the Escape Party: Once the 3 members of the Escape Party are Appointed, all living players will simultaneously vote on whether they agree or disagree with the choice. One way to do this is to stretch their arms out with their hands in a fist. On the count of three, they reveal either a thumbs up to agree or a thumbs down to disagree. If there is a simple majority who agrees, the 3 Appointed players in the Escape Party reveal their secret roles, and the outcome of the game is determined based on who escapes.
5. Escape Party Victory: Escape Party consists of 3 Appointed players. For Survivors to win the game, the Appointed players must include either the Curefinder OR The Apprentice AND Patient Zero. If not, the Carriers win.
HOWEVER, if one of the Appointed players is a Carrier, the Carriers win the game regardless of who else is in the Escape Party.

Carrier: Aim of the Game – Survivors gather Escape Tokens, survive encounters, and ensure the Curefinder escapes. Carriers, infected by the virus, sabotage the Survivors, eliminate the Curefinder, or escape, relying on strategy and deception for victory.

Carrier: Overview & Setup pt 1 – A zombie apocalypse has left humanity in chaos. The Curefinder must gather Escape Tokens, but hidden Carriers threaten their mission. In the game setup, players select Modifier cards, distribute Starting Gear, receive Secret Role and Character cards, and shuffle the Game Deck for a social deduction challenge.
